Why Do We Choose ATAG Boilers For Our Customers?

Hello everyone, so this weeks blog follows on from our previous blog on choosing who to install your boiler.

So, you have had your 3 or 4 quotes from various companies for your new boiler. And each has recommended a different brand of boiler. Now if you have read my previous blog then hopefully you would have interrogated your installer as to why they choose that brand and what makes it so good.

We choose ATAG boilers as our preferred boiler. Now I am not in the business of telling you other brands are rubbish and why I have these opinions. My opinions are built on extensive experience and research. There are many brands that are good, and definitely some that are not so good. Some are expensive, some are cheap. If you google the different brands, there will be horror stories for all of them regardless of what you want to find, people like to complain and are slow to praise. And before you say it, we are not part of an installer scheme. ATAG do not offer loyalty schemes to their installers and rightly so in my eyes. They believe in their product and so do we, this is the only incentive we want. A happy customer with a fantastic boiler that will work great for years is enough for us at FJM!!

I wont lie, when I tell my customers of my preferred choice, one of the first questions I get is ‘Who are ATAG?, I’ve never heard of them’. Well let me fill you in a little but you can also find the information at their website www.atagheating.co.uk.

ATAG are actually a Dutch company and they build all of their boilers at their factory in the Netherlands. They have been around for 70 years. They produce very highly engineered heating boilers which are built from high quality materials.

With a lot of other boiler manufacturers (And unfortunately all UK manufacturers too which saddens me), they build their boilers with lower grade materials and they use a lot of moulded plastic parts, especially for water carrying components. So we see a lot of leaks where the plastic mouldings split at an early stage of the boilers life because the plastic fatigues very quickly. And from an engineers point of view, a lot of boilers are actually very hard and fiddly to work on, they can take an age to get apart for servicing and repairs. And the use of lower grade materials also means the efficiency will be lower. To further add to this, a lot of manufacturers have a ‘cheaper’ offering which is fine, but this also detriments the boiler because the technology and programming means they will not work as efficiently as boilers with more sophisticated programming thus costing you more money in the long run. So there is a large false economy in there which I am sure you can understand.

We fit ATAG for the following reasons:

-- They are made using high quality brass and stainless steel parts, including the water carrying parts. There are no plastic mouldings for water carrying parts. Lower risk of leaks and higher efficiencies maintained through the materials. They include a 10 year warranty with their boilers which is up there with all leading brands nowadays. They were in fact one of the first to offer a 10 year warranty!! #confidence

-- They use world leading manufacturing methods for their stainless steel heat exchangers which give outstanding efficiency, decreased risk of blocking and scaling. They actually give a lifetime guarantee on their main heat exchangers. Correct me if I am wrong but I do not know of any other manufacturer that is willing to give a lifetime guarantee to the biggest and most stressed part of their boiler.

-- They are incredibly easy to work on from an engineers point of view. I know of no boiler that I can strip so quickly and clean so thoroughly within a reasonable time.

-- They are at the pinnacle of technology with boiler programming to increase efficiency, save money on bills and lower emission as much as possible. They boast the highest efficiency figures available in Europe, particularly with their Economiser combination boiler range. All of their boilers are equipped to accept smart thermostat technology (Hive does not conform as a ‘smart thermostat’ which I will touch on another time) such as their own ATAG One Zone, NEST, Tado or Honeywell Evohome to name a few.

In a nutshell the boilers themselves are fantastically made and are also at the forefront of technology when it comes to giving our customers an outstanding product that they can rely on. We are proud to offer them and want every one of our customers to have them. Don’t get me wrong some customers already know what they want and will not deviate from this, which is fine, but the majority will go with my recommendation because they trust what we say and do their own research as I encourage them to do. I have never had a customer complain about a single one of our installations, only highest praise for how great their ATAG boilers are.

As an added bonus for our customers we are able to operate as registered warranty repairer for ATAG as we have had a lot of training and demonstrated our competence with their products. So we have a stock of parts ready and waiting for any eventuality. If any of my customers were to have an issue with their boiler, I can make sure their boiler is fixed, back up and running within 24 hours in 99% of cases.

If you have any questions regarding ATAG or want to find out more about their products, you can visit them online or feel free to send us an email and we would be only too happy to give you any information you wish to know.

Thank you for reading as always and eyes peeled for the next post.

Have a great weekend.
